Marketing & Communications Specialist

The Role

icona is looking for an experienced Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our growing team!

Our ideal candidate is highly organized and detailed, with outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, and working closely with the Manager, Digital Marketing, you will support a wide variety of marketing and communications initiatives.

What You will Do

  • Own project management for all marketing and communications programs
  • Develop and deliver internal communications to drive employee engagement, awareness, and excitement for all communication campaigns and connect their impact to our brand.
  • Establish, monitor, measure and report on the success and impact of all communications initiatives, campaigns, and strategies in accordance with measurement and evaluation frameworks; analyze data to help determine and recommend improvements to strategic approach.
  • Launch and manage company Intranet.
  • Design and implement sales performance reporting templates/protocols.
  • Event Management & Coordination: planning and managing community relations events, internal team events, presentation centre openings, realtor events, etc.
  • Proof and edit materials authored by colleagues ensuring compliance with brand voice and guidelines.
  • Improve icona templates and consistency of use by team.
  • Provide support to the departmental planning and budgeting process.
  • Participate on cross departmental teams or committees.
  • Support the facilitation of brand workshops and brainstorming sessions with the icona team, utilizing strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable initiatives.
  • Analyze marketing trends, consumer personas and the competitive landscape.
  • Increase visibility of icona brand through B2B and B2C programming/outreach initiatives.
  • Draft/edit video scripts, speeches, presentations, invitations, etc.
  • Coordination of all traditional advertising.
  • Support the development/implementation of ESG, DEI and HR policies and programs.
  • Develop a suppliers list for key marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate filing and record keeping.
  • Review competition in detail including presentation centre visits and stay informed of general market conditions, create monthly status reports for marketing team.
  • Coordinate production and workflows with printing companies, signage, etc.
  • 20% general administrative duties and 80% specialized duties.

What We are Looking For

  • You ideally have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Business
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience including 2 years of event coordination
  • Proficient in full Microsoft Office suite especially intermediate skills in PowerPoint/Keynote and Excel applications
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
  • Self-starter, high level of initiative, proven proactive thinker
  • Strong ability to multi-task with results-oriented mindset
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, workflow, and meet deadlines
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

Two days per week this role will be based in our Coal Harbour office (located near transit) where you will enjoy front row ocean views, seawall access for walking meetings, and a talented team of collaborators. The other three days you will be able to work from your home office where you will be equipped with all the necessary tech.

Salary

$70,000 - $80,000
